New HDMI Wall Plate from CableWholesale Allows HDMI Signals to Travel 75 Feet over Cat 6 Cable

Product reduces costs, allows greater distance between HDMI source and display devices

The new HDMI wall plate from CableWholesale enables HDMI devices, up to 75 feet apart, to be connected over ordinary Cat 6 cables. This dramatically reduces costs, helps assure long-distance signal strength, and increases the options for arranging the HDMI devices. The new HDMI wall plate is available now for $34.77.

The wall plate's integrated balun transformer converts the signal from HDMI to Ethernet, allowing the signal to travel over Cat 6 cable, which is commonly used for telephone and network cabling. Cat 6 is much less expensive than HDMI cable, significantly lowering costs.

This approach also helps maintain the integrity of the HDMI signal, which typically loses strength at distances greater than 50 feet. Because it is transformed to Ethernet, the HDMI signal can remain strong without signal boosters or signal extenders, further reducing costs.

The wall plates make it possible to place the HDMI source and display devices farther apart than is common. For example, the DVR can be in a controlled or secure room, away from the TV or other display device. This increases design flexibility and makes the HDMI equipment more portable.

The product has aesthetics advantages as well. The wall plate eliminates the need for exposed, loose cable or unsightly holes in the wall. The slim compact housing gives a finished look. Clutter is reduced because long HDMI cables are not used.
